Founded in Taipei on 13 February 1966; the first chairman was Chang En-pu, the 63rd Celestial Master. Under current chairman Chang Cheng, the Association secured national recognition of Taoist Day (the first day of the lunar new year) in Taiwan's official calendar of commemorations.
